LED lighting

CHARACTERISTICS

01

What is LED lighting?

An LED light source is a light-emitting diode (LED) consisting of a semiconductor material capable of generating light when an electric current is applied to it. The first LEDs emitted a dim light and were used in electronic components as indicators. The evolution and development of this technology has improved the quality of the light emitted, making it the predominant lighting system used in a variety of applications.

LED lighting stands out for its efficiency with lower energy consumption and longer lifetime compared to conventional light sources, as well as being less polluting and generating less heat. This has allowed LEDs to push other obsolete technologies out of the market.

Thanks to LEDs, terms such as colour temperature, luminous flux, colour rendering and lumens have become widespread and well known. This allows everyone to make better use of lighting in their homes.

02

What are the advantages of LEDs over other lighting systems?

  • Greater energy savings, they emit more light with less energy consumption.
  • Longer service life.
  • High colour reproduction.
  • Low maintenance.
  • Vibration, shock and impact resistant.
  • Longer warranty period.
  • Immediate and flicker-free start-up.
  • It has been economised in recent years.
  • It doesn’t  generate noise.
  • Optimum operation at low temperatures.
  • They don’t emit heat.
  • It allows to create different illuminations that could not be achieved with other systems.
  • More environmentally friendly as they don’t contain toxic substances or pollutants.

03

What is colour temperature and how does it affect my mood?

Colour temperature is defined as the hue of the light emitted and is expressed in Kelvin as a unit of measurement. It can be grouped into three temperature ranges:

  • Warm light: up to 3500K
  • Neutral light: between 4000K and 5000K
  • Cold light: more than 5500K

Circadian rhythms are biological changes that affect our body on a regular basis, both physically and emotionally, and respond mainly to the light and darkness we perceive. In other words, the light we perceive at different times of the day, as well as the darkness at night, set a series of patterns in our body. Therefore, the colour temperature of the light we perceive affects our body’s circadian rhythms, whether it is natural or artificial light.

Thus, altering our body’s circadian cycles negatively affects our health.

04

What is luminous flux? What are lumens?

Luminous flux is the amount of visible light emitted by a light source in all directions and the unit of measurement is the lumen (lm).

04

What is the opening angle of light?

The angle of aperture of the light tells us what the angle of the beam of light is, which allows us to know the size of the area it will illuminate. Thus, a smaller angle will create a focused light while a larger angle will allow general illumination.

Ceiling fan

INSTALLATION

01

At what height should I install my ceiling fan?

The minimum distance between the blades of a ceiling fan and the floor is 2,3 m for safety reasons. Some of our models have an additional shaft. To check if this is available, please go to the section Products > Air conditioning > Ceiling fans, choosing the model you want in the section “Mechanical characteristics” > “Accessories”.

02

Can I install a ceiling fan on a sloping roof?

In most of our models if it is possible, you can check it by clicking on a specific model, in its description. Maximum roof pitch 20º.

03

Can I install a ceiling fan in a plasterboard ceiling or in a false ceiling?

Yes, it is possible, however, you should check the strength of it to see if it can support the weight of the ceiling fan. In the case of plasterboard, there is a special block that distributes the weight over the surface.

Ideally, however, it should ideally be attached to the actual ceiling.

PIECES AND SPARE

01

Is it possible to purchase spare parts for my fan?

You can request spare parts by going to the shop where you bought it or to another shop in the same chain. If the ceiling fan is under warranty, present the purchase receipt or invoice.

02

I am installing my fan and I'm missing parts, what do I do?

You should report the incident to the shop where you purchased it, so that they can provide you with a solution.

REMOTE CONTROL

01

Do they have a remote control?

All our ceiling fans are operated by remote control except the HAWAII and FIJI models.

02

At what frequency do the controls work?

Most 433 Mhz models, except FAST FAN models which work at 2.4 Ghz.

03

Can several ceiling fans be operated with one control?

Yes, it would be possible, as long as the ceiling fans share the same control characteristics. You should bear in mind that if they are in different rooms, when they are switched on, they will all receive the order to switch on and/or off.

04

Is it possible to control a ceiling fan with two remote control?

No, it isn’t possible, the ceiling fan receives orders from a single command.

05

I can't get my fan light to turn on from the wall switch.

Most of our fans have a “Command Preference” feature, which means that the command you have given with the remote control is the one the fan remembers. First, check that the wall switch is pressed in and allows power to pass through, then turn the light on with the remote. You will then be able to control the fan light via the wall switch.

If the light still doesn’t come on, continue reading the section “Malfunction”.

MALFUNCTION

01

My ceiling fan light doesn't work, what's wrong with it?

  • The ceiling fan works but the light doesn’t work: the problem is in the LED board, to be able to buy a replacement it is necessary to go to the shop where you bought it.
  • The light works with the wall switch but not with the remote control: it is important that the battery of the remote control has an optimal charge, otherwise, a desynchronisation may have occurred between the remote control and the controller. In order to re-synchronise it, it is necessary to follow the synchronisation instructions in your instruction manual.

02

It is normal for the ceiling fan to move?

No, it is not normal. The movement is usually caused by poor installation. We recommend that you check the tightness of the screws.

FUNCTIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS

01

How can I activate the anti-mosquito function?

It is not a function as such, it is a characteristic of ceiling fans. The air current produced by the ceiling fan, apart from hindering the mosquitoes flight, helps to move the CO2 that we expel when we breathe and the lactic acid when we perspire. This prevents mosquito bites to a certain extent, as they are not able to find the user to bite.

02

What is winter-summer mode?

Summer mode allows the ceiling fan to rotate counterclockwise to generate a downward breeze.

The winter mode will be the opposite direction of rotation and the ceiling fan will blow the air upwards, so we will perceive the warm air.

03

How do I change the winter-summer mode?

Depending on the fan model, click here to see each of them.

04

Can I programme my ceiling fan to turn itself off?

Depending on the model, you can check if the fan has this feature or not, in the section Products > Air conditioning > Ceiling fans, choosing the model you want, in the section “Control” > “Programmable time”. If you don’t find this option, it means that the model doesn’t have this feature.

05

What is the IP degree of protection?

The IP degree of protection indicates the level of protection of the device against external agents, whether solid objects or water. It is represented by two digits, where the first digit indicates the degree of protection against solid objects and the second digit indicates protection against water. The higher each digit is, the greater the protection against each element.

Solar lighting

CHARACTERISTICS

01

What is the difference between monocrystalline and polycrystalline panels?

The main difference between a monocrystalline and a polycrystalline panel is the efficiency in converting sunlight into electricity. A monocrystalline solar panel is more efficient than a polycrystalline panel, but this difference is also reflected in the cost of manufacture, with the monocrystalline panel being more expensive.

Physically, they are easy to distinguish: monocrystalline panels have bevelled corners and a dark, almost black colour. Polycrystalline panels have right-angled corners and are blue in colour.

02

What type of battery do our solar lamps use?

We equip our solar luminaires with high-capacity batteries that ensure the highest reliability and safety in use. Among them you can find Ni-MH, Lithium-ion or Lithium-Iron batteries.

03

What is the IP degree of protection?

The IP degree of protection indicates the level of protection of the device against external agents, whether solid objects or water. It is represented by two digits, where the first digit indicates the degree of protection against solid objects and the second digit indicates protection against water. The higher each digit is, the greater the protection against each element.

POWER MODES

01

How do I change the power mode of my solar lamp?

You can change the power mode by pressing the “ON/OFF” button. If you have more than one button, press the “MODE” button.
